We have confirmed new ownership taking over this fall! Longtime customers, Forrest Chess and partner Caroline Eaton, are thrilled to step in at the Mountain Wanderer and to preserve the shop’s legacy here in Lincoln. While there are plans to expand the business with a boutique gift and crafts shop next door, Forrest and Caroline will keep the book shop pretty much as is, and they look forward to talking trails and supporting all the great activities in the region.
Forrest and Caroline will be taking over day-to-day operations in early September, but you’ll still see me in the shop too, just a little less often. Come in anytime or check online to see when. I’ll still be posting my hikes on Facebook and we’ve restocked the shelves, so be sure to come in for a visit soon and say hi.

Our small but well-stocked retail store is located on the Kancamagus Highway (Route 112) in Lincoln, NH, close to many White Mountain trails and attractions. Look for us on the north side of the road next to the Kancamagus Country Store/PNB Energy Gas. We’re just 0.3 mile east of I-93 at Exit 32. Our street address is 57 Main Street.
